A new master-planned community is under development between Tomball and The Woodlands.

J. Alan Kent Development is developing the 286-acre Lakes at Creekside community near the southwest corner of Kuykendahl and Hufsmith roads.

When it’s complete, the community will include more than 600 homes, eight lakes, a recreation center, a park, trails, a splash pad and a pool, according to a press release from The Woodlands-based Newcor Commercial Real Estate.

Homebuilders such as Houston-based Trendmaker Homes, Miami-based Lennar Corp. (NYSE: LEN) and Ohio-based M/I Homes Inc. (NYSE: MHO) will develop the first phase of 148 lots, which are expected to be delivered in February. The community will be built in four phases. Homes will be zoned to Tomball Independent School District and will be priced from $300,000 to more than $1 million.
